Not all Siberian Tigers live in Siberia. Some are scattered
across
the entire globe. For example, I live in a beautiful State of
Oregon in
the US. I am an educated tiger and hold a Masters Degree in
Computer
Science. It allows me to live, eat meat and write these essays
among
other things.
I can call myself a radical
conservative.
Conservative? Me?
Everyone who knows me and my views might be really surprised to hear a
label "conservative" slapped on the environmentalistically minded,
non-religious, pro-choice me. However, there is one word, one
deeply held belief of mine that makes me one on the right and not on
the left. This word is "meritocracy". My studies of
esoterics and spirituality led me to experiencing the truthfullness of
the postulate that our life is just a reflection of what we are inside,
and no one can change it for us. We change our life through
changing and healing ourselves. Every philosophy and social
movement that hides this postulate by giving out a "free lunch" and
"protection" as an "inalieable right" brings up not humans but pampered
consumers who think everyone owes them and don't want to change
themselves demanding the change from the world around them. Thus,
social structure and institutions should give people both a stimuli to
grow and freedom to move on and act by themselves.
However, meritocracy is just the first step. When analysing
modern leftists' views and approaches to life, I get an overwhelming
sense of confirmation of my choice not to be one of them. The
Tiger does not like liberals because they do not taste well, and their
ideas smell even worse ;-). I might eventually translate into
English my
treatise on liberals as species that once were human, but got their
brains' functionality decayed. The key here is in replacing the
real
world with some stupid and idealistic views (derived from
oversimplification, fears and guilt and made possible by using the
left, logical part of their brain too much) that are contrary to the
human nature and then trying to inflict them on the world while
expecting that
everyone will
share them. Experience shows that it does not work.
Religious
Right does not impress me either, but it is much less dangerous for the
country because everyone thinks they are a bunch of nutcases and nobody
takes them seriously. With leftists people take them seriously
even though they are even bigger nutcases and fanatics.
Now back to "radical conservatives".
Radicals were always considered the force bringing new ideas and moving
the society ahead in general. Conservatives were the preservers
of the old values keeping the traditions and providing . However,
everything has changed in the modern times.
The label "conservatives" was slapped on the throwbacks of the past
whether leftists usurped the term "radical". Yes, they might be
radical. However, I don't agree with the direction they are
moving considering the very foundation of their views to be
faulty. In order to prove it, I'd like to refer to the psychology.
Every animal, not just humans, has two primary motivations in
life. They are getting pleasure and avoiding pain.
Everybody has both, but one is usually more important. As one can
easily guess, the choice of primary motivation creates a difference
between an achiever and an avoider. Certainly, not everything is
that simple, and attempts to get pleasure at any cost are evident in
most criminals. However, it is still much better foundation for
succeeding in life. One just needs to learn how to direct it
towards success and not towards crime. These who were born and
raised an avoider has much harder time getting successful, and their
Path is much longer.
This is why psychologists as well as spiritual teachers tell us to
focus on the goal and not on an obstacle. This is why being
positive even in the hard times helps make your life positive.
Modern leftists who consider themselves radicals focus on all possible
dangers and try to minimize them legislatevely. It is them who
created a victims' society out of the Western world. They support
trial
lawyers whom I consider the biggest danger to this country. Even
though I have a lot of issues with Republicans, they are still the
party of these who prefer to make their own money unlike Democrats who
are the party of those who prefer to divide and redistribute money
taken from somebody else. Republicans prefer to act whether
Democrats prefer
to whine. Spiritual principles teach to focus on the goal and not
on the obstacle, so I prefer the party of these who wants to be rich to
the party of these who thinks the society owes them because they are
poor. However, I never vote by the party lines trying to look at
every issue separately.
OK, we've figured it out with the "conservative" part. I take the
essence of the conservatives' platform (but not their beliefs).
What makes me a radical then?
I am a radical in my approach and methods to reform the society and
people's mentality.
We've reached a historical time when learning is no longer an exclusive
priveledge of the upper classes. However, the school system is
IMHO really faulty. It teaches everyone often unnecessary math,
chemistry et al, but it does not teach people how to live. It
does pack tons of unnecessary information into their heads, but does
not teach them how to deal with their emotional issues, how to resolve
conflicts, how to build relations, how to stay healthy, how to
monitor their own state of consciousness, how to deal with life in
general. The universal approach it teaches is "if you have this
problem, ask specialist - doctor, lawyer, councelor". It creates
a society of narrow-skilled (and often narrow-minded) specialists who
are often helpless outside of their area of competence and thus are
deceived by the self-serving "professionals" ("oh, your car has a
serious problem!" is just one example).
I could also describe my political views as pre-libertarian. It
means
that I like some libertarian ideas, but consider them to be ones of the
future. Currently society is not ready for them exactly because it does
not form mostly self-sufficient people who know when they need to
consult a specialist but still have most problem solving skills
themselves.
I'd like to use society-wide education in the area previously reserved
for the upper classes. I'm talking about true spirituality that
is basically a system of self-improvement and self-healing as well as
harmonious personal development. This is the real gem hidden deep
inside religions (one might read the "Decomposing Religions" essay to
learn more). Not everyone is supposed to become equal to Dalai
Lama or Ghandi, but everyone can learn something to improve his life
using these methods. There are methods for each level of
involvement, from simplest visualizations and Daoist sexual techniques
for regular people towards complete systems of achieving Enlightement
for a few chosen adepts.
I am also radical in my analysis of the society and our life. I
can sometimes link some elements that seem to be unlinkable.
However, at this stage one needs to know Russian in order to enjoy
these bigger works of mine. One deals with liberals as species,
other - with the true goal of the globalization from the Nature's
prospective.
Here are the essays. Some of them are ready, others need transfer
from my brain into the electronic form that will happen
eventually.
Public policy.
Barbarians led by Ralph Nader. - my take on
this fanatical evil clown who I consider the biggest enemy of mine in
the American politics since naderism represents the biggest danger for
the American collective conscience.
The Victims' Society. Don't forget to
read "Freedom And Security" link below.
These two essays are the earliest that can be guessed by the worst
English of all of them and somewhat uneven tone. They will be
reworked eventually.
What Nader Really Wants. - the paradoxal thing
is that he wants not
less than a complete destruction of the Democratic party. The
essay will explain why and what will be possible outcome (it is worse
than one might think).
Coping And Cops.
The Sad Truth About Road (Un)Safety. (Includes
my definition of The Curse of Efficiency - an effect that impacts
negatively many possible positive changes in any society).
How To Reform Medical Field, part 1. - these
proposals are the patch, not the solution, but they can improve not
only financial state of affairs, but also the environment.
Democracy's Biggest Fallacy. - how democratic society has hard times
doing certain uncomfortable and thus unpopular things. BTW, it is
democratic rule that makes many politicians prostituting themselves in
order to get elected. Also, "housewife ruling the state" - famous
Russian Communists' saying and the complexities of the modern life.
Elephants and Donkeys In The China Shop - this is my analysis on who is
the US' real friend and two latest administrations' foreign policy
regarding Russia and China. As of now, you can read it in Russian
only,
link is on the Russian page.
Some Thoughts About Laws And Law-Based Society.
Historical time. - an essay that shows the stupidity of modern leftists
in the complex world. For example, it debunks the myth of Human
Rights - BS Of Today.
Does Information Really Want To Be Free? - an open letter to Harlan
Ellison. This author decided to cash in by suing the AOL ISP when
someone pirated his works on the Internet. This essay is dealing
with creativity in general and motivations for it.
How Savage Is This Nation? - reviewing the "Savage nation" - a book by
Michael Savage.
Legalizing Prostitution. - an issue where Jerry Falwells of the world
would agree with radical feminists, owners of strip bars and criminal
overlords. However, all of them are deeply wrong ;-). This
thoughts on this topic were inspired by a brutal murder in Southern
Oregon and the "Treatise of love". It includes discussion about
"deprived people".
Why Iraq Attack Is A Must. - written in
November, 2002. Some things (such as building working democracy
in Iraq) have proven to be unachievable at this stage of the population
there, but the premises of starting this war were correct, and they
were confirmed by the reaction of certain countries' leaders on the
war. I need to write a followup essay about Iraq and current
state of affairs there.
Iraq War And Civil War. - semi-scientific
look at the great divide in the American society that Iraq war
manifested.
The egalitarian myth. - we live in the society that is egalitarian in
its approach to education, freedom of speech and information, voting,
ability to be elected et al. However, one who knows how to look
still can see the naturally occured raising of the caste system
alongside the original Hinduistic lines.
The Last Valve. - this was the name of Lenin's famous article about the
land reform in Russia after the first Russian revolution. I tell
about spirituality as a last tool to save the rapidly dying Western
civilization. It presents a case of spiritual Path as an
alternative to both "bad" egotism and "good" altruism that are promoted
by the mainstream religion and culture.
The Death Of The Libertarian Dream. - some info on the insurance
concept and its role in the current state of the Matrix.
Spirituality.
Decomposing Religions. - a spiritual glance
at religions with understanding what they are about.
Some Thoughts On Using Reiki. - some
information and warnings on using this simple but powerful Japanese
healing technique.
Is The Left Really Spiritual? - some
thought-provoking views questioning widely assumed "spiritualness" of
the leftism.
Treatments As A Symptom Of The Illness Of The Western Medicine.
Spirituality And Capitalism. - an essay that researches spiritual and
antispiritual forces in the capitalist society.
Overcoming Guilt. - guilt is a subconscious program that is present in
a lot of people. It is one of the worst ones since it freezes a
lot of possible movement in self-improvement as well as makes us
forfeit being happy.
The Empowered Sheep.
My Russian page. It has links towards
my big treatises written in a form of topics on my favorite forum I was
addicted to ;-). It also has some links towards topics from that
forums that are not mine, but are nevertheless interesting ;-).
Some links.
"Treatise
Of Love The Way It's Seen By An Awful Bore". This is a
very
interesting reading that uncovers who has sex and who doesn't with the
explanation why. Basically, it's the popular explanation of the
mating among humans as species from the position of ethology, the
science of instincts.
5 Tigers. Portal dedicated
to tigers.
Hoerneker Insitute. You can adopt a tiger here (nope, not me, my
parents are still alive and reasonably well ;-).
Freedom
And Security.
Overlawyered - daily updated
BLOG on the lawyers' news and abuses.
Trial
Lawyers, Inc - research project on the lawsuit industry in the US.
